Uve Kupka serves as President of Heraeus Precious Metals North America. Uve studied Business and Economics at the University of Gießen and started his professional career as international controller for W.C. Heraeus. In 1998, he transferred to Singapore as Corporate Controller and was responsible for W.C. Heraeus divisions and subsidiaries in Asia. Afterwards, he managed Heraeus Ltd. in Hong Kong. In 2009, he moved to New York as President and headed the North American activities for W.C. Heraeus (subsequently Heraeus Precious Metals). He managed the business of the GBU Heraeus Metal Management in the US starting in 2015 and took over the management of the activities of the GBU Heraeus Precious Metals in the US in April 2017.
Henrik Marx is heading global precious metals trading at Heraeus with four sites in Germany, New York, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. He has been working with Heraeus and in the precious metals industry for over 15 years. He went through various roles starting in Recycling through Sales and Business Development. From 2015 to 2018 he was heading the Heraeus business in Hong Kong as the General Manager, followed by two years in Switzerland at Argor-Heraeus being in charge for the investment products department as Director of Sales. Since June 2020 he is the CEO of Heraeus Metals Germany overlooking the global trading activities for Heraeus.
David is the Senior Vice President for Trading and Sales at Heraeus Precious Metals New York LLC. He is responsible for funding and price risk management of precious metals to Heraeus sites in the Americas. The trading team offers the same physical metal service to external customers principally from the industrial sector. David joined Heraeus in September 2014. Prior to joining Heraeus, David commenced his career in 1980 working exclusively on precious metals trading desks with experience in both trading and sales at financial institutions ranging from AIG to Commerzbank. David graduated with an honors degree in Economics from the University of Kent at Canterbury.
Chiranjit Sapre (CJ) has been with Heraeus Precious Metals for 6 years now. He is the commercial contact for a chemical products, chemical catalysts and recycling business segments for North America. Prior to Heraeus, Chiranjit was with Metalor technologies where he commercially represented Metalor for their Mid-Atlantic Region customers.
Chiranjit has over 15 years of precious metals experience. He currently serves as a President for Metro NY Chapter of IPMI, and also serves as Board of Director for IPMI.
Guido Vildozo manages the automotive light vehicle sales forecasts in the Americas for the Automotive Group at S&P Global Mobility. His primary responsibility is to monitor industry trends and develop forecasts for its markets. To this end, he looks at the impact of product planning and strategy - as well as regional political and economic factors - on vehicle demand. Guido specializes in manufacturers' product cycles, production capacity constraints, investments, and import-export strategies. He frequently speaks at engagements that examine the current state of the automotive industry in the Americas and has been quoted in Bloomberg, Automotive News, Wards, and the Financial Times, among others. He has more than 20 years of experience in Automotive at IHS Markit (now part of S&P Global) and its predecessor companies.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and master's degree in International Economics from Suffolk University, Boston, US, and pursued further graduate studies in Marketing, Business and Finance at Bentley College, Waltham, Mass.
Henk is a mining engineer and Chartered Financial Analyst. He has a proven track record as a top-ranked investment analyst, having analysed companies and commodities in detail in the gold, coal, base metals, diamond and PGM sectors as a stockbroking analyst for 12 years. Henk spent the next 14 years as a resources sector investment banker, getting involved in significant capital raisings and M&A advisory for a wide variety of mining companies across the commodity spectrum, and has an authoritative understanding of valuations and relationships across the value chain. He recently joined SFA (Oxford) Ltd. as Chief Executive Officer. SFA (Oxford) provides bespoke, independent intelligence on the strategic metal markets.
Wilma heads all platinum group metals research at Metals Focus with 16 years’ experience in the platinum group metals industry. She has 12 years’ experience in the PGM mining industry focused on metal sales and marketing from her time at Lonmin, where she was Head of Commercial Services. She served as non-executive director on the boards of the Platinum Jewellery Development Association, World Platinum Investment Council and Furuya Metals . She also served as chairperson of The Platinum Incubator from 2016-2019 and is the current Chairperson of Women in PGMs. Wilma holds a MSc in International Business Administration from the University of London.
Detlef Gaiser received his PhD in metalorganic chemistry from the University of Cologne, Germany.
Since 1998 he held several technical positions in innovation, operations, and technical sales in the chemical industry.
Since many years Detlef is working for the technical sales of Heraeus Precious Metals Chemical Products and is responsible for precious metal salts and catalysts.
His interests are the use of homogeneous precious metal catalysts in the pharmaceutical and finechem industry and the possible uses of precious metals in the semiconductor industry.
James Steel is HSBC’s Chief Precious Metals Analyst. Jim joined HSBC in May 2006. Previously Jim ran the New York research department for Refco, a large US commodities brokerage house, specializing in energy and metals. Jim also worked for The Economist in the Economist Intelligence Unit covering commodity producing nations and on the Middle East desk.
Jim’s primary duties at HSBC include the production of daily market reports, including long term outlooks for the precious metals markets. These include supply/demand and price forecasts, as well as qualitative analyses. Jim is a frequent speaker at commodities related conferences. He is often quoted in the financial media and frequently appears on Bloomberg and CNBC. Jim is an economist by training and studied economics at undergraduate and graduate levels in London and New York.
Edward leads research for the World Platinum Investment Council (WPIC).
Prior to joining WPIC in 2021, Edward spent over 15 years in sell-side equity research, focussing on the mining sector, including coverage of the major global platinum producers and diversified miners. As well as research on mining equities, Edward undertook supply/demand analysis for platinum, diamonds and uranium. Most recently, he was a highly ranked Mining Analyst and Director at BMO Capital Markets, covering more than 40 different stocks during his tenure. Edward brings extensive capital markets experience to WPIC with a career that has also spanned interest rate derivatives trading and advisory roles on corporate fund raising. He studied geology at the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, and is a fellow of the Geological Society.
Mr. Phair is the Founder and CEO of Scottsdale Mint, a U.S. based vertically integrated precious metals mint, founded in 2009, that is now focused on the fabrication, contract manufacturing, distribution and retail sales of precious metals. Scottsdale Mint’s clients and partners include Fortune 500 companies, large private banks and central banks representing more than 20 foreign governments.
Mr. Phair co-founded and is CEO of The Wyoming Reserve Opportunity Zone Fund Corporation- a precious metals and physical asset focused vault headquartered in Casper, Wyoming with special tax considerations for investors.
Prior to forming Scottsdale Mint, Mr. Phair handled risk management/insurance for some of the world’s largest mining, refining, and waste companies in the world.
